COVID-19 has snagged us

09/07/2022

I guess it is our turn to have it.

After 2+ years of dodging the COVID bullet, we found out yesterday that my husband has it. He tested positive and I’m negative but “exposed”.

He said that it could be one of two places where he contracted it:

In one of his college classes, a student came up and told him he had COVID and he needed to quarantine. I could turn left and make this whole post about following directions, but we won’t go there.

He’s the volleyball liaison and he had to attend two games on Saturday.

On Sunday he was super tired and had a cough. Since Monday was Labor Day, we decided that Sunday would be his day to chill on the couch. I asked if he wanted to go to the ER, but he said no - he could wait and go to the urgent care clinic on Tuesday.

Labor Day, his body aches were not as bad, but he still was sneezing and coughing up a storm. He did a little work, but he wanted to rest. I allowed him to do what he felt like doing, and I didn’t push him to do anything more.

on Tuesday around 2:30 or 3:00, we went to the urgent care clinic. He got tested for both flu and COVID. It didn’t take 10 minutes for the doctor to come back and say “You tested negative for flu, and positive for COVID.”  She gave him a prescription and told both of us to quarantine for the next 5 days.

I haven’t marked myself as exposed yet, but I need to do that soon.

As far as symptoms?

I have a scratchy throat as of right now, and I am praying that it does not get any worse. I am going to work to keep us both healthy for the next 5 days and beyond.

What’s on our dinner plates?

Finishing Labor Day ribs

Eating barbecue chicken, corn, and salad

Continuing our multivitamins and adding extra C and zinc

Hopefully the next 5 days will go by fast. I’ll be working on some things to share with you. Be on the lookout.
